Winner BJP Photoaward 2007
Picture © Carla Verea, last year’s winner of the BJP International Photography Award.Young Mexican photographer Carla Verea picked up the BJP International Photography Award in 2007 with a powerful set of portraits of Guatemalan bodyguards. Shot over two years, the project unanimously won the judges over with its unflinching portrayal of the bodyguards and their casual familiarity with violence and power.
